Vijay Deverakonda
Deverakonda Vijay Sai (born 9 May 1989), popularly known as Vijay Deverakonda, is an Indian actor and film producer who works primarily in Telugu cinema. He is a recipient of a Filmfare Award, a Nandi Award, and three SIIMA Awards.

Vijay Deverakonda – Career & Other Ventures
Vijay Deverakonda began his acting journey with Nuvvila (2011) and gained recognition for his supporting role in the coming-of-age drama Yevade Subramanyam (2015). He rose to stardom with Pelli Choopulu (2016) and achieved massive popularity with Arjun Reddy (2017), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu for his intense portrayal of a troubled surgeon.
He further strengthened his position in Telugu cinema with commercially successful films such as Mahanati (2018), Geetha Govindam (2018), and Taxiwaala (2018). However, this successful phase was followed by a series of films that received mixed to negative responses.

Career
Early Career (2011–2015)
Vijay Deverakonda made his acting debut with the romantic comedy Nuvvila (2011), directed by Ravi Babu. He later appeared in a minor role in Life Is Beautiful (2012), directed by Sekhar Kammula.
His major turning point during this phase came when director Nag Ashwin cast him in a supporting role in the coming-of-age drama Yevade Subramanyam (2015) alongside Nani. The film brought him recognition and helped him gain visibility in the Telugu film industry.
Breakthrough Phase (2016–2018)
Vijay’s first lead role came with Pelli Choopulu (2016), directed by Tharun Bhascker. The film became a commercial success and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu, along with the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu.
In 2017, he starred in Dwaraka, but it was Arjun Reddy (2017) that transformed him into a sensation. His intense portrayal of a self-destructive surgeon received widespread critical acclaim and won him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu. His performance was later featured in Film Companion’s list of the “100 Greatest Performances of the Decade.”

In 2022, he made his Bollywood debut with the bilingual film Liger, directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar. The film received highly negative reviews.
He later starred in Kushi, which received mixed reviews and performed as an average grosser.
In 2024, The Family Star turned out to be a box-office disappointment. However, he made a notable cameo appearance as Arjuna in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, which brought renewed attention.

Vijay Deverakonda has been associated with several brands and business ventures beyond cinema. He served as the brand ambassador for the food delivery app Zomato.
